The field of Bixiere

The La Bixiere domain in the Cantal region is 2 kilometres from Saint Jacques des Blats on the left bank of the Cère, which flows through the valley of the same name; this "flat bed" valley is one of the area's sunniest ones, connecting the Auvergne mountains to the Aurillac basin before extending to the Lot department where the Cère flows into the Dordogne river.
  • At an hour-and-a-half drive from Clermont –Ferrand, Saint Jacques des Blats is 9 minutes from Lioran and 12 minutes from the charming spa town of Vic-sur-Cère. Aurillac, prefecture of Cantal, is with its historic city, about 40 minutes.
  • There is an SNCF train station in Lioran and another one in Vic-sur-Cère. A stele in front of the church reminds us that Saint Jacques des Blats is on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostelle, between Le Puy en Velay and Conques or Rocamadour to the south.
